Summary:
Approval of the recommended Resolution will authorize the City to contract with Brookings Powersports of Brookings, SD for the purchase of two (2) Ranger Utility Vehicles, with track systems, at the pricing schedule set through a competitively solicited cooperative bid process by Sourcewell, contract #122220-PSI. One unit is for the Street Division and the other for the Solid Waste Division. The combined purchase price is $75,052.25. Sufficient appropriations, totaling $78,000, are available in the 2023 amended budget under Solid Waste Disposal Fund #625 and Capital Improvements Fund #213, and figuring the surplus value of the existing 2017 Polaris Ranger.
These units will replace a Street Division 2017 Polaris Ranger and a Solid Waste -Disposal Division 1999 pickup truck. Both replacement vehicles have exceeded their useful life of 6 years and 10 years, respectfully, and if not replaced will continue to require costly repairs.
