Summary:
The adoption of Senate Bill 138 allows for the introduction of the annual budget ordinance as late as the first regular City Council meeting in November. Moving the introduction of the budget ordinance to later in the year will allow for better understanding and projecting of revenues and expenditures, which allows for more accurate budgeting. To move the introduction of the annual budget ordinance later in the year, an ordinance is required to establish a budget schedule.
