City Council action to adopt the Community Development and Housing Needs Assessment Plan is a necessary requirement as part of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Application for a joint facility addressing food insecurity, which would house the Food Pantry, Brookings Backpack Project, Senior Commodity, and United Way Programs. The building would be located on First Lutheran Church property under a long-term lease with United Way serving as the building owner. All partners are excited, enthusiastic, and supportive of the project.
