Summary:
A public hearing is required to allow public comment on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application and the Community Development and Housing Needs Assessment Plan. The approximate $2,000,000 Community Development Block Grant would fund a joint facility addressing food insecurity which would house the Food Pantry, Brookings Backpack Project, Senior Commodity, and United Way Programs. The building would be located on First Lutheran Church property under a long-term lease with the United Way serving as the building owner. All partners are excited, enthusiastic, and supportive of the project.
