Adoption of Brookings Historic Preservation Plan

Summary:
The Brookings Historic Preservation Commission began the process of updating the Historic Preservation Plan in 2019 with the selection of Winter & Company. The update officially began with a public workshop in early 2020 that resulted in the Existing Conditions Report, which served as the baseline for the plan. The pandemic slowed progress on the plan update until the Fall of 2020, in which, Winter & Company developed an online survey to assist in providing feedback, prioritizing strategies and goals, and helping formulate the Historic Preservation Plan.
The Implementation Matrix provides the goals, policies, action items, with an approximate time frame along with leading and supporting partners in helping achieve each item.
The BHPC will forward a recommendation to the City Council with the City Council taking official action to adopt the Historic Preservation Plan.
