Summary:
This Resolution will award the purchase of a Dell VxRail Hyperconvergence Appliance from CDW-G in the amount of $63,860.55. This will replace several aging servers in City Hall as well as aging servers and SAN’s at the Brookings Police Department.
Background:
Server equipment in both City Hall and at the Brookings Police Department is very dated, and is past it’s useful life stage. This appliance will also allow server room consolidation as the Police Department has had some issues cooling the amount of heat in their server room at times, as well as replace aging infrastructure in both buildings, resulting in cost savings in both equipment as well as energy costs.
