Summary:
An application was received to replace windows with vinyl windows at 414 4th Street which is located in the Commercial Historic District. In addition to the window replacement, the applicant is proposing to add six, one bedroom apartment units on the second floor of the commercial building. State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has requested the applicant to evaluate alternatives to the vinyl windows. Currently waiting on additional information from the applicant.
The property owner at 809 9th Street has requested a demolition permit to remove the structure from the property, which is located in the University Residential Historic District. The property is a non-contributing structure. SHPO has reviewed the applicant and issued a letter stating the demolition of the structure will not encroach upon, damage, or destroy historic properties.
