Summary:
This Resolution will award the purchase of two (2) Toro fairway mowers, one (1) Toro greens mower, and replacement reels from the Toro Company in the amount of $153,004. The City will receive $14,800 in credit for the trade-in value of old equipment bringing the total contract price to $138,204 and within the $140,000 budgeted amount. These mowers have been held 2 years beyond the standard 10-year replacement schedule and are critical to proper turf and greens maintenance at the golf course.
Background:
Fairway and greens mowers are critical equipment in the maintenance and upkeep of golf course turf and putting green areas. The new mowers will replace 2009 model mowers of the same style. A standard replacement schedule for equipment of this type typically occurs on a 10-year cycle.
During the golf season these mowers are used every day to maintain greens and fairways on the course. Failure of this equipment would negatively impact play of the golf course very quickly.
