Summary:
General discussion on location of future parks and trails.
Background:
Inquiries are received from citizens as well as Planning Commission members concerning the location of future parks and trails. The City of Brookings has been transitioning away from pocket parks which serve a smaller geographical area and towards regional parks and a trail system which connects neighborhoods to parks.
Attached in the packet is references from the Subdivision Regulations as well as maps from the Comprehensive Plan. The City does not have a parkland dedication ordinance at this time and has relied on either developers dedicating parkland or purchasing parkland from the developer.
