Summary:
An application was received to replace four (4) windows at 324 Main Avenue which is located in the Downtown Commercial Historic District. The windows are non-original and are located on the side of the building along 4th Street. The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has reviewed the application and determined the proposal will not encroach upon, damage, or destroy historic properties.
The City received an application to replace a front door on a contributing structure at 715 3rd Street. The property is located in the Central Residential Historic District. The SHPO issued a letter stating the proposal will not encroach upon, damage, or destroy historic properties.
The property owner at 420-422 Main Avenue proposed a change in the window design. The alteration will vertically extend the street side windows. The SHPO issued documentation that the proposed changes will not encroach upon, damage, or destroy historic properties. The property is located in the Downtown Commercial Historic District.
An application was received for a new home at 311 8th Avenue, which is adjacent to the Central Residential Historic District. The applicant came to the Brookings Historic Preservation Meeting on September 12, 2019 to discuss the preliminary plans. The final plans are consistent with the preliminary plans and SHPO issued a letter stating the new construction will not encroach upon, damage, or destroy historic properties.
