Summary and Recommended Action:

In 2024 the City of Brookings revised Ordinance 72 pertaining to Storm Drainage and implemented the Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU) system to calculate drainage fees.  During the process of assessing the drainage fees, staff inadvertently assessed fees against this parcel. The individually owned properties situated on this parcel have each been assessed a drainage fee and the common area should not be charged as it does not contain a stand-alone structure.

 

Fiscal Impact:

The property tax for parcel #40494-00300-004-05 will be reduced by $73.68.
