Summary and Recommended Action:

As more and more groups are reserving the Cooper Rooms for personal parties. Meetings need to be open to the public and should be gatherings of “civic, cultural, or educational character.”

 

As more parties have been held the clean up of the Cooper Rooms has been borderline needing the additional cleaning charge. On August 2nd, a gender reveal party was held and aerosol spray cans were deployed resulting in a fine layer of blue powder over EVERYTHING in the Cooper Rooms, and required excessive amounts of additional cleaning.

The proposed edit to the policy would prohibit parties in the Cooper Rooms.

 

Staff recommends approval of the edits the to the meeting room policy to not allow personal parties.
