Mayor Niemeyer is recommending Council Member Nick Wendell as the Deputy Mayor for a one-year term, ending June 1, 2026.
The City Charter requires the City Council to annually appoint a Deputy Mayor. The Deputy Mayor’s duties are to conduct City Council Meetings in the absence of the Mayor and to conduct ceremonial duties when the Mayor is not available. This is a one-year term ending June 1, 2026.
